The Saga of the Dirty Stick

Apparently AlbertaViews wants to reprint my blog posting about the dirty stick/bus stop near my apartment. Peter Norman called to say that this publication "sadly comes without payment, but perhaps comes with untold amounts of glory." Now if I can only get the New Yorker to columnize my Haiku Horoscopes, I will have it made.

So I have to ask...whatever happened? Did you ever get a bus stop or are you still chasing down busses that don't see the dirty stick?

I yelled at a few bus drivers who were causing problems ("Well, I can tell it's a bus stop, and I'm not even a bus driver") --- most of them were used to stopping there --- but every now and again I have to remind people that yes, there's a stop there. It's not so much a problem when I am getting on the bus (they see you, they stop) but when I am trying to get off.
